Channel Islands

To register a domain name in the Channel Islands you should submit an application by using either the web based form, or by email using the standard email application form

The easiest way to the email based form is to cut-and-paste the form into a blank e-mail.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the form is sent in plain text as preliminary examination of domain name applications is carried out by an automated system which will not accept file attachments or HTML format email.

Once you have completed the form, you forward it to

If the form is acceptable to the automated application checker, you will normally receive an acknowledgement with a serial number (ticket number) within 5 minutes.

The issuing of a ticket number does not mean that your application has been accepted at this stage, simply that it has been received by the registry and entered into the processing queue. We aim to review all applications within a week of submission, and to formally respond to the application within 30 days.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Registry and the Insular Authorities (the four Goverments of the Channel Islands), the members of the Channel Islands Governmental Advisory Committee have an opportunity to object to any domain name application within 30 days of the issuing of a ticket number by the Registrar.

A domain name may be entered into the technical root zone on a provisional basis for testing at at anytime between the issuing of a ticket number, and the issuing of an invoice. This does not necessarily imply that the domain has been accepted for registration and applicants are warned that they must not assume that an application has been accepted until they have received an invoice and 30 days has elapsed.

Registration is only completed once the application has been accepted by the registry issuing an invoice and that invoice has been paid in full.
